I remember first seeing this documentary in high school. I was blown away by the music by Philip Glass, the editing, and the visual style. Viewing it again as a history teacher, I was blown away by how useful clips from this doc can be across several units, though focused on the Cold War.
Featuring interviews with former secretary of defense Robert McNamara, who served in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. It's a behind the scenes look at the decision makers behind the major conflicts of the 20th century with a reflective tone. Cold War topics featured include the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War, but there is also an incredible segment on the firebombing of Japan during WWII.
